A great day was had by all at the Abercynon Rugby Club Festival today with at least 160 children attending from the local community to participate in a fun filled day.
The festival was organised for both boys and girls in Years 5 & 6 to gain an introduction into rugby and to undertake practice drills, such as tackling, catching, passing and kicking. The festival was arranged by Bethan King/Leanne Coomer/Shelley Parry(Abercynon Minis Chairperson(s)) and set up by WRU development officer Gavin Dacey, who was assisted by colleagues along with Abercynon Minis and Junior Coaches.
Abercynon RFC would like to thank, Abercynon Community Primary school, YGG Abercyon and Ynysboeth Primary school who turned out in great numbers and supported the day. Also, a special thank you to all the children for showing some great skill and commitment throughout a fantastic day.
If any children wish to join an excellent setup at Abercynon Minis and Juniors rugby, then please contact Bethan King on 07471 935908. All Coaches, First Aiders and Volunteers are qualified and certified.
