Abercynon RFC, alongside fellow Cynon Valley clubs Abercwmboi and Aberdare have been officially recognised in parliament after their promotion to the WRU National League 1 East Central earlier this year.
Cynon Valley MP Beth Winter (centre) tabled a parliamentary motion in May celebrating the achievements of the three clubs, while also recognising them joining Mountain Ash and Ynysybwl to take the number of teams representing the area in Division 1 to five.
Club Secretary Richard Barnes (left), and first team captain Connor Dixon (right) were presented with the framed 'Early Day Motion' by Mrs Winter in her office on the 20th October.
The purpose of an 'Early Day Motion' is to draw attention to particular subjects of interest, which are then sent to political circles across the world, raising the profile of Wales and the wider Cynon valley area in this case.
