Club Statement

Abercynon RFC Clubhouse will reopen to its members and their guests for outdoor hospitality at 7pm Friday 31st July 2020.

As a result of the easing of lockdown restrictions, and the club forming a strong working relationship with RCTCBC Licencing Department, ARFC has been granted a licence to open and serve alcohol. It comes with strict conditions and local authority protocols that must be adhered to. The health and safety of our staff and patrons is paramount, so all safety measures and restrictions are in your best interests. The club is fully prepared, and the provisions in place will hopefully gain us support and public confidence.

Our usual opening days and times will prevail but we must close by 10pm. a maximum number of 70 people will be allowed on the the club premises on a first come first seated arrangement. Members will be allocated a table on the terrace for a 2 hour time slot for themselves and their guests, and must be seated. It is advisable to phone the clubhouse on 01443 740586 to check availability as strictly no standing or loitering will be allowed. Regrettably no children can be admitted.

All patrons must provide their names and contact details on arrival.  Social distancing protocols will be followed Inside the clubhouse, we are using a one-way systems leading to the bar to order and collect drinks also one for access to the toilets. We encourage the use of membership cards or cashless payment for your purchase. All beverages must be served in plastic glasses.  Enhanced hygiene and cleaning regime will be employed throughout the club.  Appropriate PPE will be worn by staff.

We plead for courtesy and patience towards one another and the staff during these unprecedented abnormal times.
Welsh Government have announced there is potential for indoor hospitality to reopen from Monday 3rd August but is still to be confirmed. We will keep you updated on these developments and ARFC's position as they arise.

On your visit to the club you will be undoubtedly impressed by the refurbishment work that has been carried out during the shutdown. We must congratulate and thank all the volunteers who have given up their time and energy in doing such a fabulous job of transforming the clubhouse.
