Abercynon RFC are delighted to announce that Jordan Coxley will captain the 1st XV for the upcoming 2024/25 season.

After going through the Mini's and Junior's set-up until Under 12 and playing part of his youth rugby with Abercynon before eventually departing - Jordan returned to the club in 2022 and is now a prominent feature in the 1st XV squad every weekend.

Flanker Coxley will take over from Connor Dixon who's captained the side for the past two seasons.

Jordan Coxley said: "I’m really pleased to have been given the captaincy for the upcoming season. Personally, it’ll be an honour for me to lead my home club out onto the field every week. It’s an opportunity I could never turn down. I can’t wait for the season to get back underway so we can carry on showing everyone what we’re about."

Sam Evans, Abercynon RFC Forwards Coach, said: "Us coaches are thrilled to work with Jordan, not just as a player but as a leader from next season. We are excited to see what heights he can lead this current group of players to.

"I'd also like to thank Connor Dixon for what he has brought to this group of players in terms of leadership, and no doubt he will continue to lead by example in the future.
