A Tribute to Ray Adams

As a talented player, captain, committee-man and long-time Chairman of Abercynon RFC, Ray Adams was all of these and more. Sadly, after battling a long illness and nearing his 85 birthday, he recently passed away. Commencing his Abercynon career during the 1950’s, Ray, who played at full back, captained the side in the 1961-62 season. At the end of his playing days Ray became chairman and in 1969 oversaw the opening of Cynon’s new clubhouse in Margaret Street and also the custom-built current headquarters in 1985.  During his long tenure as chairman, success on the playing field prolife.....
